Rock in Surf

Beach Three, Olympic National Park, Washington Coast

An intertidal rock is sculpted and gradually reduced to sand by the pounding of the waves.  This is the same rock as seen in the previous photo, but I've used a faster shutter speed (but still relatively slow) to capture more detail in the surf.  Also, this was photographed with a digital camera (the previous photo was done with film) and at a different time of day; hence, the color differences.
