Lake Washington Walkway
Lake Washington, Seattle, Washington
A network of paths guides visitors through the University of Washington Arboretum and along the shores of Lake Washington. On this day the fog was quite thick, but the tranquil lake water and trees turning their autumn colors made for a peaceful scene. It may look quiet, but this was a football game day for the UW, and the band was practicing at the stadium a short distance away in the fog. I liked the setting, and the band helped me look for compositions that said "quiet" in my mind. This was one such composition. Photo © copyright by Stephen Penland.
