Crescent Moon

As I set out for a morning of photography in eastern Oregon, a very thin crescent moon was rising just ahead of the sun. I composed this so that the moon appeared adjacent to a rock cliff. At first glance, it may be difficult to figure out this yin-yang composition, but that's a large part of its appeal to me. Photo © copyright by Stephen Penland.
