Fog and Sun in Zion

Zion National Park, Utah

Bad weather often makes for great photographs (or at least great photographic opportunities).  After a week of blue skies and pleasant temperatures while staying in Zion during April, we had a short, afternoon snowstorm followed by localized fog.  Everyone with a camera was out trying to capture this beautiful change in weather.  I was in the South campground and was able to capture the sandstone cliffs of Zion in broken fog and the late afternoon sun.  It really was great fun looking for interesting compositions in this fast-changing weather while being confined to just one small portion of this magnificent national park in southern Utah.
